Yosemite

Yosemite

The Ahwahnechee people, who first inhabited Yosemite Valley as far back as 3000 years ago, said of Bridalveil Falls that breathing the mist would increase the chance of marriage. Yosemite, especially the valley of the same name, is full of magic, wonder and sheer grandeur. On one side is the iconic El Capitan granite monolith and on the other, farther down the valley is famous Half Dome. With so much natural beauty and diversity, it’s no wonder that Yosemite sees as many as five million visitors each year.

For an excellent overview of Yosemite, watch this 9-minute Expedia video. Here’s a 3-minute National Geographic video of 5 must-sees in Yosemite.

  1. I love Yosemite. It is one of my favorite places to spend a holiday. My favorite part of Yosemite is the waterfalls. I have been to many waterfalls but the ones at Yosemite are some of best I have ever seen. The pictures of the waterfall of Yosemite Park in this article are my favorites. I live in dry New Mexico and love to visit places with waterfalls and Yosemite is perfect for me because of the unbelievably beautiful waterfalls.

  2. I still haven’t gotten a chance to visit Yosemite, but hope to do so in the future. I’d like to see the waterfalls since they look so beautiful in pictures!

  3. Beautiful. It seems so wide open and a place you can breathe. The picture of the tree and the rock. My first impression was that the tree was laying an egg.!!

I’ve never been there but a place I would surely like to visit.

  4. What gorgeous pictues and enjoyed the videos. The falls are absolutely beautiful and that tree with the rock through it trunk-amazing. Yosemite is a beautiful place. AZ

  5. What absolutely breathtakingly beautiful pictures of our beautiful country. We are so fortunate to live in such a magnificent country.

  6. I would love to visit there someday. When you think about it there is so much to see in our country there’s really not much need to leave it and go elsewhere.

  7. The first picture looks like a huge gold nugget. Would love to just walk in the forest. Beautiful videos and pictures.

  8. Wasn’t there a Looney Tunes cartoon character called Yosemite Sam a long time ago . It used to come on Saturday mornings. Lol hadn’t thought of that in a long time

  9. So gorgeous! How are you supposed to drive or even walk around without killing yourself? I would not be able to take my eyes off of the views!

  10. Such an amazing place!!!! We live the Fresno area so not far from Yosemite! Both my husband and I worked in Yosemite when we were 18 and 20 but funny thing we never saw each other. Didn’t know about both of us being there until many years later!!!!! It’s a BIG place
