Mont Saint Michel France 2018

Mont Saint Michel France 2018

Hi, Everyone! Again, because of the holiday season, I’m keeping the blogs short-and-sweet with just a nostalgic look at some of my favorite blogs this year. One of them had to be Mont Saint Michel France.

I loved this romantic island town and featured it in SAPPHIRE FLAME, the 7th book of the Flame Series. You can watch the videos and read the funfacts from the original blog on Mont Saint Michel here.  In fact, one of the videos talks about how the seagulls came down onto the patio and ate some of the breakfast yogurt. I ended up including this little bit of fun in SAPPHIRE FLAME.

But it is a lovely place and would no doubt be a fun destination for any trip to France. Enjoy the following photos which also appeared on the original blog. Be sure to enter the contest for this week’s blog bracelet giveaway!

  1. Mont Saint Michel really looks like it came straight out of a fairytale! I’d really like to visit and still want to eat the famous omelette.

  2. When we lived in Paris during the 1970’s and 1980’s, we visited Le Mont Saint Michel numerous times. Since then, it has been modernized quite a lot making it easier for tourists to navigate the island. We went one time in the winter and it was bitter cold walking all around and climbing the endless steps. The views were just breathtaking and some of the stairways were a bit treacherous. We stayed overnight one time, leaving our car a safe distance from where the water came in. After a cold day outside, the tiny room we stayed in was so warm and cozy. I didn’t want to leave. The area is known for its lamb and we had some delicious lamb and other wonderful seafood there. Le Mont Saint Michel is a place that should be on everyone’s bucket list. It is so worth it.

I loved the picture of the island lit up at night. So beautiful!

  3. That’s kinda funny, one picture makes it look like it’s surrounded by water, then another picture makes it look like it’s surrounded by land!

  4. Ever since I learned about Mt. Saint Michel in the 7th grade, this beautiful place has called to me. My first visit to France must include a visit here!

  5. All the photos are beautiful. In 1985 I went to Paris and around seeing so many of the old Chateaus. Paris is beautiful but I didn’t care the Parisians so much-too stuck up for me. They also have good food. I enjoyed the sightseeing tremendously!! Didn’t get to St. Michel-not enough time. AZ

  6. My hubby has always wanted to tour France because that’s where both sides of his family originated.

His brother went there and said he wanted to go again someday because it was so impressive.

  7. Truly beautiful . I still would be nervous in a storm. I’m sure the waves don’t reach it since it has stood for so long. I’m a chicken though lol.
