Lake Bled 2018

Hi, Everyone! Again, because of the holiday season, I’m keeping the blogs short-and-sweet with just a nostalgic look at some of my favorite blogs this past year.

I couldn’t resist including the photos of Lake Bled. If you remember, this is one for the fairy tales. Everything about this setting, from the mountains, to the picturesque castle, to the beautiful lake seems like a fairy tale come to life. If you’d like to revisit the original blog, read some funfacts and watch some delightful videos all of Lake Bled, go here.

  1. Happy New Year, Caris! Waving from Southern California and thanking you, as always, for the beautiful pix. That is indeed a fairy-tale view!

  2. Lake Bled is still on my list of places I’d like to visit. I think I would get a bunch of postcards to send to my friends since it’s such a picturesque location!

  3. You are so right. This does look like a fairy tale place. I especially like the first photo showing the island in the middle of the lake from a distance. From that angle, one can really appreciate how special the island is. Gorgeous! Can you imagine how fresh the air must be? Nice!

Happy New Year to you, Caris, and thank you for your wonderful blogs. I enjoy each and every one of them.

  4. Beautiful pictures. Just like a fairy tale. Someone once told me that fairy tales were nothing more than horror stories for children. Little red ridding hood and the wolf that eats people, wicked witches, trolls, giants and dragons. Put all this in modern time and what do you have? Horror story. But they can also be magical. These pictures are magical, mostly, especially the snow ones, with just a hint of the scary. Love, love, love it.

  5. Good to see these wonderful pictures again. My mom’s family is from Slovenia and, while visiting relatives, they were on the island when there was a wedding taking place. My mom talked about it right up until shortly before she passed away. I have to admit the Mojave Desert has nothing like it.

  6. Hi Caris, these pictures are outstanding. I am going to put this area on our list of places to visit. I hope that you and your family had a very Happy New Year and that 2019 will be a very good year for everyone.

  7. Caris Happy New Year and I could easily live on that island that looks ideal but then of course life would creep in and I love the pictures you put intio this.

  8. Happy New Year, Everyone!
I’m with most of you as well…I would love to visit this extraordinary place in Slovenia.

    Hugs all around,
