Cape Town

On a par with the mild climates of Los Angeles and Casablanca, Cape Town, South Africa attracts tourists from all over the world. The two videos I’ve shared below are well-worth viewing. Each will give you an overview of this beautiful place with crystal blue waters, the famous Table Mountain which sees nearly a million visitors each year, and even a colony of penguins. Take a look at Cape Town, South Africa and see if this belongs on your bucket list.

  • Basic info, quote: Cape Town is a coastal city in South Africa. It is the second-most populous urban area in South Africa after Johannesburg. It is also the capital and primate city of the Western Cape province. As the seat of the Parliament of South Africa, it is also the legislative capital of the country. It forms part of the City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality. The city is famous for its harbor, for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region, and for such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. (Source)

  • Cape Town, founded in 1652 by Jan van Riebeeck of the Dutch East India Company, had a primary purpose: The town was created to serve as a mid-point for ships traveling to the Far East.
  • Cape Town’s climate is similar to California in the USA as well as the Mediterranean.
  • The most visited location in Cape Town is the Victoria and Albert Waterfront.

  • A strip of clouds, sometimes referred to as the Table Cloth, often forms on Table Mountain.
